The Junior Championship in the Czech Republic is now three days old and there are still four teams with three wins - Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Spain.
The tug of war between Germany and Belgium ended with the German team winning. It was decided by the 6th inning overtime and the three points scored, which set the final score at 10:7.
A combined no-hitter was thrown against Lithuania by the three French pitchers Laot, Couvreur and Layec, helping their team to a clear 10-0 win, the second of the tournament for France.
Israel's players remained without a point in their deuce with Italy. Italy picked themselves up after the defeat by the Czech team and took the match calmly to a 9-0 victory.
The Netherlands also had an easy job in their match against Austria. Eleven hits, including Kendrey Madura's second home run of the tournament, were enough to win 12-2. Allard Helms pitched a complete game.
The Czech team leaned on the starting pitching of the Ireland pitcher with vigor and took a 7-0 lead after the first inning. The 3rd inning brought another load of points and the Czech Republic won 18:2. Michal Šindelka hit the fifth Czech home run of the tournament.
Spain was again on the short end of the stick, but once again managed their game, and despite a dull performance, beat Great Britain 6:3. The Brits led 3:2 in the middle of the 5th inning when their starter Travis Harfield gave a great performance. However, the Spaniards eventually won 6-3 with the help of the British defence and the inaccuracies of substitute Moran.
