At the Junior European Championship, the preliminary groups have finished and the teams are waiting for the first matches for the final part of the competition.
The two semi-final duels will definitely be the most attention. In the afternoon one, Spain and Italy will face each other at the YD Baseball Arena from 15:00. Spain won Group A undefeated, while Italy finished second in Group B with one loss to the Czech team. The same opponents faced each other in the semifinals in 2021 and the Italian team was more successful 7-5.
The other semi-finalists are the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. The Czech Republic managed to win Group A undefeated, while the Netherlands were second in Group B after defeating Spain. The home team can certainly look forward to the support of the fans, so we hope for a great atmosphere. The game will be played from 19:00 at the Draci Brno stadium.
In the group for 5th-8th place Germany will face Great Britain and France will face Israel. Germany defended bronze at the tournament, but defeats by the Czech Republic and Italy kept them out of the semi-finals. Great Britain, on the other hand, is a pleasant surprise, as they made it to the European Championships from the qualifying round. The game will be played at 11:00 am at the YD Baseball Arena.
France has been performing well in the tournament, losing only to the Netherlands and after a great fight to Spain. Israel finished 7th in the last European Championship and is sure to fight for the same position this year. The match will be played in Blansko at Strawberry Field from 17:00.
Ireland will be fighting for their first win of the tournament against Austria. Austria finished eighth in the last European Championship, Ireland did not compete in the tournament. The other team without a win is Lithuania. They will play Belgium at 16:00 at the same venue. The losers will then play to stay in the elite tournament of the European U18 Championship.
